Oklahoma Expungement & Pardon
Expungement
An expungement allows eligible individuals to have certain arrests, charges, or convictions sealed from public view. Once expunged, the record is removed from most background checks, helping individuals pursue employment, housing, professional licensing, and other opportunities without the burden of a past record. Eligibility depends on the type of offense, the outcome of the case, and the amount of time that has passed.
Pardons
A pardon is official forgiveness granted by the Governor after recommendation from the Oklahoma Pardon and Parole Board. While a pardon does not erase a conviction, it restores certain rights and can significantly strengthen eligibility for employment, licensing, and, in some cases, future expungement.
